DeKalb had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Naperville Central Redhawks by a score of 56-44. Given the Barbs' advantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Redhawks are ranked 285th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

DeKalb's win bumped their record up to 19-6. As for Naperville Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 15 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-17 record this season.

Coming up, DeKalb won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Lyons at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. DeKalb has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 172 points over their last three games. As for Naperville Central, they will welcome Oswego at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
