Baseball Recap: Garrard County Takes a Loss

Garrard County had lost five straight at home, but on Wednesday they dropped their record down to 6-12 to make it six. They took a 5-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Boyle County Rebels. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Golden Lions couldn't push the score so high this time.

Garrard County saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Zacharee Stacy, who went 1-for-3 with one RBI.

As for Boyle County, the win (which was their ninth in a row) raised their record to 15-7. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.4 runs over those games.

On Boyle County's side, they let Austin Bodner and Logan Perry run wild. Bodner went 3-for-4 with two runs and one triple, while Perry went a perfect 3-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those three hits gave Perry a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kyler Claunch, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with one stolen base and one run.

While Garrard County had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair will be back at it again later today.
