Softball Recap: Cameron Takes a Loss

Cameron fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Tyler on Friday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Knights by a score of 3-2. The loss continues a trend for the Dragons in their meetings with the Knights: they've now lost nine in a row.

Lexi Bogard spent all 7.2 innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up nine Ks. With that strong performance, she is now averaging an impressive 5.2 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Aubrey Thomas was cooking despite her team's loss, going a perfect 4-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Cameron's defeat dropped their record down to 2-8. As for Tyler, their victory ended a nine-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-16.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Knights beat Cameron by a score of 11-2 later that day.
