It's playoff time, and East Duplin had no trouble coming through when it counted. They blew past the Manteo Redskins 8-2 on Tuesday. The Panthers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won ten matchups by six runs or more this season.
Morgan Brown made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off seven hits (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one RBI. That's the most hits she has posted since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Karsyn Parker was excellent, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Rebecca Beach, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base.
East Duplin's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-7.
