Norcross has no trouble against Peachtree Ridge

The Norcross Blue Devils came tearing into Friday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.3 points) and they left with even more momentum. They took down Peachtree Ridge 35-17. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Norcross also won the last time the pair played back in October of 2022.

Norcross was led to victory by Arrington (aj) Watkins and Kevin Maven-winchester. Watkins rushed for 53 yards and two touchdowns, while Maven-winchester rushed for 234 yards and two touchdowns.

Peachtree Ridge's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Myles Abernathy, who picked up 153 receiving yards and a touchdown, and Darnell Kelly who threw for 244 yards and a touchdown.

Norcross pushed their record up to 8-2 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 37.8 points per game. As for Peachtree Ridge, their defeat ended a four-game streak of away wins and brought them to 9-1.

Norcross will head out on the road to face off against North Gwinnett at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Georgia (North Gwinnett is ranked 40th, while Norcross is ranked 26th). As for Peachtree Ridge, they will be playing at home against Duluth at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Duluth will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
