Football Recap: Coweta Starts off Right with Win over Wagoner

Coweta gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They strolled past the Wagoner Bulldogs with points to spare, taking the game 21-7. For the Tigers, this counts as revenge for the 24-0 win the Bulldogs walked away with the last time they faced one another back in September of 2024.

Coweta was led to victory by Brock Heilmann and Legend Ellis. Heilmann gained 160 total yards and a touchdown, while Ellis threw for 120 yards and two touchdowns. The dominant performance also gave Ellis a new career-high in rushing yards (36).

Coweta has already played their next match, a 44-20 victory against Northside on the 12th. As for Wagoner, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 38-31 defeat against Tahlequah on the 12th.
