Basketball Recap: Josette Aparicio's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Taft over London

If Taft was riding high fresh off their 64-33 takedown of Odem last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Taft Greyhounds lost 67-41 to the London Pirates on Friday. Sadly, that's the third time they've come up short against the Greyhounds this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 56-36 back in January.

Several Greyhounds players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Josette Aparicio, who posted 17 points. The dominant performance gave Aparicio a new career-high in points. Yaneli Rios was another key player, putting up six points and nine rebounds.

Taft's loss dropped their record down to 19-13. As for London, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 19-10 record this season.

Taft will venture away from home to face off against West Oso at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. West Oso will roll in looking for their 12th straight victory, something Taft surely won't give up without a fight. As for London, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Odem at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. London is facing Odem at the right time seeing as Odem is stuck on a ten-game losing streak.
