Baseball Recap: River Ridge Triumphs

River Ridge hadn't done well against Highland recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Timberwolves came out on top in a nail-biter against the Cardinals, sneaking past 3-2. That's more bragging rights for the Timberwolves, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

River Ridge's win was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Cael Koenig, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one double. Aaren Bedward also deserves some recognition as he got his first hits of the season.

The victory made it two in a row for River Ridge and bumps their season record up to 5-3. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of one runs across that stretch. As for Highland, they are on a nine-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-6.

Looking ahead, River Ridge will host Platteville at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Highland, they are taking a road trip to face off against Barneveld at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
