Baseball Recap: Martin Luther Comes Up Short

Martin Luther was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 11-1 to the Portledge Panthers. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly ten runs.

Martin Luther saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Tyler Hewitt, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one RBI. Justin Trail also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Martin Luther's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Portledge, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Looking ahead, Portledge will host Calhoun at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Martin Luther will be paying especially close attention to the Panthers' match: after the Panthers faces off against Greenwich Country Day, they'll take on Martin Luther again at 4:00 p.m. on May 6.
