Recap: Northwest Vikings vs. Adams Central Patriots

The Northwest Vikings suffered their biggest loss since December 2, 2023 on Thursday. They were the victim of a tough 55-32 loss at the hands of Adams Central. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Northwest has scored all season.

Adams Central found their leader in underclassman Hunter Nepple, who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Austin Vontz, who scored 12 points.

Northwest bumped their record down to 3-9 with that defeat, which was their seventh straight at home. As for Adams Central, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 10-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northwest will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Hastings at 5:30 p.m. on January 30th. As for Adams Central, they will head out on the road to challenge Grand Island Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Grand Island Central Catholic will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Nebraska Rankings (they are ranked 133rd, while Adams Central is ranked 39th).
