Baseball Recap: Plumas Charter Picks Up Third Straight Win at Home

Plumas Charter's rock-solid pitchers showed up for the team's third consecutive shutout on Wednesday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Chester Volcanoes a 10-0 shutout. The Warriors might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 13 matches by seven runs or more this season.

Cooper Clark made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Clark was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with four stolen bases and three runs. Those four stolen bases gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Zac Smith, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted over his last nine contests. The team also got some help courtesy of Nate Patterson, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Plumas Charter's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-8. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.0 runs on average over those games. As for Chester, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-10 record this season.

Plumas Charter will venture away from home to square off against Hayfork at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Chester does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
