Independence had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 43-37 W over the Walnut Ridge Scots. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-44 back in January.

Walnut Ridge's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Naimah PIERCE, who posted eight points and three steals. Nariyah Roddy was another key player, putting up ten points and six steals.

Independence has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.6 points per game. As for Walnut Ridge, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
