Volleyball Recap: Owatonna Starts off Right with Win over Rosemount

Owatonna took care of business in their home opener (barely) on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Rosemount Irish. This was payback for the Huskies, who suffered a 2-0 loss the last time these two teams met.

Owatonna took Rosemount into a fifth set where they got it done with a 11-point win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-20, 25-17, 26-28, 20-25, 15-4.

Allyson Luken and Sophie Williams certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Luken had 18 assists and six digs, while Williams had 17 kills and ten digs.

Owatonna will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Kasson-Mantorville at 7:15 p.m. on September 2. As for Rosemount, they will square off against East Ridge at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
