Basketball Game Preview: Seattle Academy Cardinals vs. Cleveland Eagles

The Seattle Academy Cardinals will square off against the Cleveland Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Seattle Academy will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.

Last Friday, Seattle Academy strolled past Rainier Beach with points to spare, taking the game 52-36. Given the Cardinals' advantage in MaxPreps' Washington basketball rankings (they are ranked 89th, while the Vikings are ranked 266th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 62-25, which was the final score in Cleveland's tilt against Bishop Blanchet on Friday. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Bears recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.

Seattle Academy's victory was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-4. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 55.8 points per game. As for Cleveland, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-11.

Everything came up roses for Seattle Academy against Cleveland when the teams last played back in December of 2024, as the squad secured a 59-27 win. Will Seattle Academy repeat their success, or does Cleveland have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
