Baseball Recap: Monson Comes Up Short

Monson had lost three straight on the road, but on Sunday they dropped their record down to 7-9 to make it four. They lost 10-0 to the Mount Everett Regional Eagles. The contest marked the first time this season in which the Mustangs were not able to get on the board.

As for Mount Everett Regional, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 10-7 record this season. The result was nothing new for Mount Everett Regional, who have now won eight games by six runs or more so far this season.

For Mount Everett Regional's part, Matt Lowe was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. Lowe has become a key player for Mount Everett Regional: the team is undefeated when he allows at most three hits, but 6-7 otherwise. Lowe was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. That triple was his first of the season.

In other batting news, Brady Carpenter was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Jacob Kreis, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base.

As of now, neither Monson nor Mount Everett Regional have any future games scheduled.
