Preview: Skyridge Falcons vs. American Fork Cavemen

Skyridge has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will square off against the American Fork Cavemen at 11:00 a.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the pair posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

Skyridge extended their postseason success on Friday against Pleasant Grove. They walked away with a 37-30 victory over the Vikings.

Skyridge's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jack Burke led the charge by picking up 99 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Carter Sheffield and his 91 yards on the ground were also a key factor in Skyridge's win.

Skyridge's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB seven times. The heavy lifting was done by Deshawn Toilolo and Iakopo Malufau who racked up six sacks between them.

Meanwhile, American Fork waltzed into Friday's match with four straight wins but they left with five. They claimed a resounding 42-14 win over Bingham at home. The result was nothing new for American Fork, who have now won nine matches by 21 points or more so far this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead American Fork to victory, but perhaps none more so than Dylan Story, who threw for 185 yards and three touchdowns. Story hasn't dropped below three passing touchdowns for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jacob Eardley, who rushed for 114 yards on only 14 carries.

Skyridge's win bumped their record up to 10-2. As for American Fork, they have yet to lose a match at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record.

We should be in store for an exciting game Friday as both teams have no problem gaining yardage. Skyridge has been on an offensive roll this season, having averaged 463.5 total yards per game. However, it's not like American Fork struggles in that department as they've been averaging 364.5 per game. With a pair of commanding offenses duking it out, the defenses are going to have their work cut out for them.
