Aptos is 10-0 against San Lorenzo Valley since January of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Aptos Mariners will host the San Lorenzo Valley Cougars at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Aptos has seven straight victories, San Lorenzo Valley has 13 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.

Last Tuesday, Aptos was able to grind out a solid win over Scotts Valley, taking the game 67-54. Given the Mariners' advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while the Falcons are ranked 529th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, San Lorenzo Valley played a tough contest on Tuesday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They had to suffer through a 82-27 loss at the hands of Soquel. The Cougars were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 39-9.

Aptos has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season. As for San Lorenzo Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-14.

Everything went Aptos' way against San Lorenzo Valley in their previous matchup two weeks ago, as Aptos made off with a 59-39 victory. Will Aptos repeat their success, or does San Lorenzo Valley have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
