Hernando won the last time they faced New Albany and Fran Kelly did her part to make sure it happened again. The Hernando Tigers breezed by the New Albany Bulldogs to the tune of 69-23 on Monday thanks in part to Kelly, who went 6 for 10 from beyond the arc en route to 33 points plus five rebounds and five steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Hernando's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Keristian Nevels, who posted seven points. What's more, she also posted a 25% three-point shooting accuracy, which is the highest she's posted since back in November of 2023.

Hernando's victory bumped their record up to 5-1. As for New Albany, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Hernando will have a chance to turn things around after yesterday's loss South Pontotoc at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday after yesterday's loss. Hernando knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past six contests -- so hopefully South Pontotoc likes a good challenge. As for New Albany, they and West Union will face off at 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
