Softball Preview: Cedar Park Christian Eagles vs. Silas Rams

The Cedar Park Christian Eagles will head out on the road to face off against the Silas Rams at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Last Monday, Cedar Park Christian sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 victory over Ballard. The win was just what Cedar Park Christian needed coming off of an 11-1 loss in their prior game.

Shelby Southard made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up three earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. Southard was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with a home run, two runs, and a triple.

In other batting news, Olivia Halim was excellent, going 1-for-3 with a home run and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Katelyn Charlton, who went 1-for-3 with a home run.

Meanwhile, Silas scored the most runs they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They put the hurt on Lakes with a sharp 20-1 victory. The win was just what Silas needed coming off of a 12-0 defeat in their prior matchup.
