Basketball Recap: East Wake Comes Up Short

East Wake played a tough contest on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were dealt a 53-26 loss at the hands of the C.B. Aycock Golden Falcons. The defeat continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Golden Falcons: they've now lost five in a row.

C.B. Aycock's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Madison Smith, who went 5 for 6 on her way to 12 points and five rebounds. Audrey Teasley was another key player, putting up 13 points and seven steals.

East Wake's loss dropped their record down to 2-7. As for C.B. Aycock, they pushed their record up to 8-1 with the win, which was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season.

East Wake wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 50-47 victory against J.H. Rose on the 21st. As for C.B. Aycock, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against South Johnston at 6:00 p.m. on January 7, 2025.
