Basketball Recap: Cardozo Starts Season with Victory Against Van Buren

Cardozo had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They claimed a resounding 72-40 victory over the Van Buren Vee Bees. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Judges also won the last time the pair played back in June of 2021.

Jayden Brister was a one-man wrecking crew for Cardozo as he posted 22 points and seven rebounds. Another player making a difference was Georgios Gatsias, who had 13 points and five rebounds.

Cardozo didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 48-36 win against Bowne on the 5th. As for Van Buren, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 64-37 defeat against Francis Lewis on the 5th.
