Basketball Game Preview: Riverside Military Academy Eagles vs. Athens Christian Eagles

The Riverside Military Academy Eagles will take on the Athens Christian Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, both will really light up the scoreboard.

Riverside Military Academy is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They strolled past Trinity Classical with points to spare back in December of 2024, taking the game 74-56.

Riverside Military Academy found their leader in sophomore Muhammed Wade, who went 11 of 21 on his way to 29 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Wade has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Konstantin Kolotov, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 17 points.

Meanwhile, Athens Christian had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 16 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They secured a 72-68 W over the Lions.

Athens Christian is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-4 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.3 points per game. As for Riverside Military Academy, their victory ended a nine-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 2-5.

Things could have been worse for Riverside Military Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-39 loss to Athens Christian when the teams last played back in December of 2021. Can Riverside Military Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
