Preview: Holgate Tigers vs. Evergreen Vikings
The Holgate Tigers will head out on the road to face off against the Evergreen Vikings at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Holgate will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Ohio Rankings (they are ranked 694th, while Evergreen is ranked 189th).
On Saturday, Holgate suffered a tough 64-41 loss at the hands of Patrick Henry. Holgate was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-14.
Meanwhile, Evergreen beat Bryan 56-44 on Friday. The win made it back-to-back wins for Evergreen.
Holgate has not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last 12 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season. As for Evergreen, they have been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 games, which provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.
Holgate ended up a good deal behind Evergreen in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, losing 48-34. Can Holgate avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
