There's no place like home for Westminster Academy, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the FAU High Owls on Thursday, sneaking past 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Lions in their matchups with the Owls: they've now won nine in a row.

If you add up the scores from across all five sets (111-109) Westminster Academy actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 17-25, 25-27, 26-24, 26-24, 15-11.

Zoe Burton paced Westminster Academy's offense, picking up 21 kills. Burton got some help from Maddie Rogacki and her 51 assists. Finally, Allayah Hayden kept Westminster Academy's defense grounded, leading the team with five blocks.

Westminster Academy's win bumped their record up to 2-6. As for FAU High, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-5.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Westminster Academy will take on Coral Gables at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for FAU High, they will head out to challenge Grandview Prep at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
