Volleyball Game Preview: Lawrenceburg Tigers vs. Jennings County Panthers

The Lawrenceburg Tigers will square off against the Jennings County Panthers at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Lawrenceburg saw some tournament action on Saturday. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of Adams Central. The loss continues a trend for the Tigers in their meetings with the Flying Jets: they've now lost three in a row.

Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the best came from Estella Shealy, who had 18 assists and three digs. She is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 14 or more in each of the last four games she's played. Grayson Messer was another key player, getting 11 digs.

Meanwhile, two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Jennings County walked away with it. They blew past the Knights 3-0 on Thursday. The win was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their four-match losing streak.

Lawrenceburg better focus on containing Madelyn Maschino and Addison Martin as the pair were huge in Jennings County's win. Maschino had six digs and two aces, while Martin had eight digs and two aces. What's more, Martin posted three kills, the most she's had since back in August.

Jennings County was lethal from the service line and finished the match with ten aces. They are 7-1 when they serve at least ten aces.

Lawrenceburg's defeat dropped their record down to 13-18. As for Jennings County, their victory bumped their record up to 11-21.

Lawrenceburg suffered a grim 3-0 defeat to Jennings County in their previous matchup back in August. Can the Tigers avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
