Softball Recap: La Plata Warriors vs. McDonough Rams

After only two runs in their last matchup, La Plata made sure to put some runs up on the board against McDonough on Wednesday. The Warriors blew past the Rams 13-3. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Sophie Payne made a big impact no matter where she played. She tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high.
