The South El Monte Eagles will be taking part in a tournament against the St. Paul Swordsmen at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. South El Monte is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.3 runs per game this season.

South El Monte is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Downey just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They lost 14-6 to the Vikings.

Ariana Razo made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 1-for-1 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That run was her first of the season. Elise Gonzalez was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-2.

Meanwhile, St. Paul earned a 4-1 win over Kaiser on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Swordsmen.

Audrey Prado was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Kailee Mejia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one double and one RBI.

St. Paul now has a winning record of 6-5. As for South El Monte, their loss dropped their record down to 5-4.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Saturday. South El Monte hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.4 home runs per game. However, it's not like St. Paul struggles in that department as they've been averaging 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
