Basketball Recap: Burbank Bulldogs vs. Lanier Voks
Burbank was the 55-42 winner over Lanier when they last played one another back in December of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Burbank Bulldogs took a 63-55 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lanier Voks on Friday.
Lanier found their leader in freshman Zach Martinez, who went 10 of 16 on his way to 25 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals. Martinez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last six games he's played. Adrian Fabela was another key player, going 7 for 15 en route to 17 points along with six boards and five assists.
Burbank's loss dropped their record down to 13-18. As for Lanier, the win got them back to even at 14-14.
Burbank is taking a road trip to challenge Jefferson at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Jefferson will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Burbank surely won't give up without a fight. As for Lanier, they will take on Brackenridge at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Lanier is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.9 points per game this season.
