Soccer Game Preview: Carlson vs. Trenton

The Carlson Marauders will challenge the Trenton Trojans at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Carlson's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for four straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Carlson turned things around against Troy on Thursday. The two teams finished up on equal footing with a 0-0 draw. The result (or lack thereof) was the first time Carlson have been dealt a draw since back in August.

Meanwhile, after failing to score in their last match, Trenton made sure to put some goals up on the board against St. Mary Catholic Central on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 4-1 margin over the Falcons/Kestrels. Given Trenton's advantage in MaxPreps' Michigan soccer rankings (they are ranked 182nd, while St. Mary Catholic Central are ranked 374th) , the win wasn't entirely unexpected.

Carlson's draw makes their record 7-5-2 this season. As for Trenton, their win bumped their record up to 10-4-1.

Carlson skirted past Trenton 2-1 in their previous matchup back in September. Will the Marauders repeat their success, or do the Trojans have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
