Softball Recap: Gresham Takes Down Ranked Willamette

Gresham faced Willamette in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. The Gophers blew past the Wolverines 18-5. The result was nothing new for the Gophers, who have now won three contests by ten runs or more so far this season.

Gresham has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a massive bump to their 3-3 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.5 runs over those games. As for Willamette, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-3.

Looking ahead, Gresham is taking a road trip to take on Milwaukie/Milwaukie Academy of the Arts at 6:00 p.m. on April 1. As for Willamette, they will look to defend their home field on the 31st against Sheldon at 4:30 p.m. This will be the Wolverines' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
