Baseball Game Preview: Ambassador Lions vs. Shalhevet Firehawks

The Ambassador Lions will challenge the Shalhevet Firehawks at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday. Ambassador will be strutting in after a win while Shalhevet will be coming in after a loss.

Ambassador is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. They were the clear victors by a 15-4 margin over Animo City of Champions on April 7th. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest victory of the season.

Meanwhile, Wednesday just wasn't the day for Shalhevet's offense. They came up short against Environmental Charter on Wednesday, falling 10-0. While getting shut out isn't ideal, the Firehawks haven't been shut out since back in March.

Shalhevet saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adam Sandler, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base. Sandler is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

The win got Ambassador back to even at 3-3. As for Shalhevet, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-10 record this season.

Ambassador was able to grind out a solid victory over Shalhevet when the teams last played back in March, winning 4-1. Will the Lions repeat their success, or do the Firehawks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
