Flag Football Recap: Carondelet Triumphs + How To Watch

There's no place like home for Carondelet, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They won a contest that couldn't have been any closer, slipping by the Amador Valley Dons 19-18. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Cougars' disadvantage in MaxPreps' California flag football rankings (they are ranked 196th, while the Dons are ranked 45th).

Kamilynn Liu threw for 237 yards and a pair of TDs while completing 94.1% of her passes. Norie Umene was her top target, picking up 100 receiving yards and two scores.

Carondelet pushed their record up to 7-7 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.7 points on average over those games. As for Amador Valley, the loss snapped their winning streak at six games and leaves them with a 11-4 record.

Looking ahead, Carondelet will venture away from home to take on Livermore at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cowboys' defense has only allowed 14.9 points per game this season, so the Cougars' offense will have their work cut out for them. As for Amador Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northgate at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Dons 11.7, the Broncos 13.5) so any points scored will be well earned.
