Madison-Grant has gone 9-1 against Elwood recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Argylls will head out to square off against the Panthers at 5:00 p.m. Madison-Grant is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
On Wednesday, Madison-Grant got the win against Monroe Central by a conclusive 14-3. Considering the Argylls have won ten contests by more than five runs this season, Wednesday's blowout was nothing new.

McKenna Craig made a splash while hitting and pitching. She didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one double, and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April.
In other batting news, Demie Havens and Carley Holliday did most of the damage at the plate: Havens went 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Holliday went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That's the most RBI Havens has posted since back in April. Another player making a difference was Grace Wood, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Madison-Grant was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .538. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Elwood's offense. They came up short against Alexandria-Monroe on Tuesday, falling 10-0. The Panthers have struggled against the Tigers recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.
Elwood saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addison Stout, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base.
Madison-Grant's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 14-6. The home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.5 runs on average over those games. As for Elwood, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
Elwood's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Madison-Grant has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 12.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Elwood, though, as they've been averaging 10.7 hits. Given Madison-Grant's sizable advantage in that area, the Panthers will need to find a way to close that gap.
Madison-Grant took their win against Elwood when the teams last played back in April by a conclusive 20-7 score. Do the Argylls have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
