After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Oakmont, Center was happy to have turned things around on Wednesday. They blew past the Cordova Lancers 3-0. The Cougars not only won on Wednesday, but they posted their biggest win since October 15, 2024 (when they won 3-0).

While Center won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-23, 25-12, 25-21.

Isabella Kossov paced Center's offense, picking up eight kills. Kossov got some help from Renee Bermejo and her 16 assists. Bermejo was also solid from the service line: she led the team with four aces.

Center's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-5. As for Cordova, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Center didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 3-2 victory against Marysville on the 18th. As for Cordova, they have also already played their next contest, a 2-0 loss against John Adams Academy - El Dorado Hills on the 20th.
