Basketball Recap: Greenwich Comes Up Short

After flying high against Waterford-Halfmoon last Friday, Greenwich came back down to earth. The Greenwich Witches were beaten by the Mechanicville Red Raiders 63-36 on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Witches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 421st, while the Red Raiders are ranked 183rd).

Greenwich's loss was their fourth straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Mechanicville, they are on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 15-5 record this season.

As of now, neither Greenwich nor Mechanicville have any future games scheduled.
