Basketball Game Preview: Clear Springs Chargers vs. Clear Falls Knights

Clear Springs and Clear Falls are an even 5-5 against one another since February of 2020, but not for long. The Clear Springs Chargers will take on the Clear Falls Knights at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Clear Springs will be looking to extend their current 14-game winning streak.

Clear Springs is headed into the matchup after thoroughly thrashing Brazoswood: they outscored them in every quarter. Clear Springs took down Brazoswood 68-53 on Thursday. Given the Chargers' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 37th, while the Buccaneers are ranked 757th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Clear Falls fought the good fight in their overtime game against Clear Creek on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Wildcats by a score of 57-55. The Knights' loss signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Clear Falls' defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 19-10. As for Clear Springs, they are on a roll lately: they've won 18 of their last 19 contests, which provided a nice bump to their 26-3 record this season.

Clear Springs didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against Clear Falls in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, but they still walked away with a 60-54 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Clear Springs since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
