Softball Preview: Freeport Falcons vs. Lincoln Academy Eagles

The Freeport Falcons will be playing at home against the Lincoln Academy Eagles at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Freeport will be coming into the matchup with an undefeated record on the line.

Freeport's pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Wednesday. They were the clear victor by a 15-0 margin over Old Orchard Beach. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for Freeport considering their two-run performance the match before.

Isabella George was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. George has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in three consecutive pitching appearances. George was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.

In other batting news, Freeport got a massive performance out of Rosie Panenka, who went 3-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. Panenka is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now stolen at least one in the last four games she's played. Norah Albertini was another key contributor, scoring three runs while going 3-for-3.

Lincoln Academy lost 13-3 to Leavitt on Friday. Lincoln Academy has not had much luck with Leavitt recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.

Freeport's victory bumped their record up to 6-0. As for Lincoln Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-4.
