Basketball Recap: Vermilion Falls Despite Big Games from Brock Meyers and Mason Cooper

Vermilion lost against St. Paul back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Sailors fell 63-52 to the Flyers.

Vermilion's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Mason Cooper, who went 6-for-14 on his way to 17 points, and Brock Meyers, who shot 40% from the field en route to 12 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Noah Penton, who posted seven points.

Vermilion dropped their record down to 1-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season. As for St. Paul, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-0.

Looking ahead, Vermilion will take on Norwalk at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for St. Paul, they will face off against Open Door Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
