The Calvary Baptist Academy Patriots scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Thursday. They blew past Grace Christian, posting a 66-36 win on the road. The win was a breath of fresh air for Calvary Baptist Academy as it put an end to their four-game losing streak.
Calvary Baptist Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Matthew DeGroff led the charge by dropping a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points DeGroff has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jacob Vaughn, who scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Grace Christian's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Jonathen Holderby was another key contributor, scoring 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Calvary Baptist Academy's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 9-13. As for Grace Christian, their loss was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 7-11.
