Volleyball Recap: Tuesday's Loss Ends Lockport's Winning Streak

It was a good run, but Lockport unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 2-0 to the Plainfield South Cougars. The Porters were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Cougars apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in April of 2024.

Lockport was held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 25-20.

Austin Williams paced Lockport's offense, picking up five kills. Williams got some help from Ryan Dziadkowiec and his eight assists.

Lockport's loss dropped their record down to 11-8. As for Plainfield South, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten games. That's provided a nice bump to their 13-8 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Lockport will take on Stagg at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. The match will give the Porters their first taste of in-conference action this season. As for Plainfield South, they will square off against Joliet Central at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
