Recap: Millbrook Wildcats vs. Rolesville Rams

The Millbrook Wildcats entered their tilt with the Rolesville Rams with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. Millbrook came out on top against Rolesville by a score of 82-69 on Friday. Given Millbrook's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 21st, while Rolesville is ranked 327th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Millbrook to victory, but perhaps none more so than Kyrie Heredia, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Heredia has scored all season. Alex Olander was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 13 points and 12 assists.

Several Rams players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Michael Downing, who scored 20 points along with six assists. Downing is trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Jayvon Chestnut, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two steals.

Millbrook is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 14-7 record this season. As for Rolesville, they dropped their record down to 6-15 with that loss, which was their fifth straight at home.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Millbrook will square off against Wake Forest at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Millbrook is facing Wake Forest at the right time seeing as Wake Forest is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Rolesville, they will head out on the road to take on Heritage at 7:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Rolesville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Friday.
