Recap: Crestwood Red Devils vs. Grand Valley Mustangs
The Crestwood Red Devils won the last time they faced the Grand Valley Mustangs, and things went their way on Saturday too. Crestwood snuck past Grand Valley with a 44-39 win. Given Crestwood's advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 227th, while Grand Valley is ranked 682nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Charlie Schweickert continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds. He has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last five times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Dekota Johnson, who scored ten points along with three blocks.
Crestwood's win bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Grand Valley, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-8.
Crestwood will take on East Canton at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Grand Valley, they will head out on the road to face off against Southeast at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Southeast is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
