Baseball Recap: Los Altos Drops Highest Score of Season Against Half Moon Bay

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Los Altos). Everything went their way against the Half Moon Bay Cougars on Saturday as they made off with a 14-6 win. With that victory, the Eagles brought their scoring average up to 6.1 runs per game.

Gavin Moore was a standout: he went 1-for-4 with one home run and three RBI. Derek Eltherington was another key player, going 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Los Altos kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. That's the most hits they've posted since back in March of 2024.

The win was the fourth in a row for Los Altos, bringing their record up to 12-4. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Half Moon Bay, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.

Los Altos will venture away from home to face off against Milpitas at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Eagles are facing the Trojans at the right time seeing as the Trojans are stuck on a ten-game losing streak. As for Half Moon Bay, they will welcome Woodside at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
