Aitkin came tearing into Wednesday's game with three straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10 runs), and they left with even more momentum. They were the clear victors by a 9-2 margin over the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars. That's two games straight that the Gobblers have won by exactly seven runs.

Hunter Moreland spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on five hits and racked up seven Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Cole Trotter and Jake McGuire did most of the damage at the plate: Trotter went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base, while McGuire went 2-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI McGuire has posted since back in April. Jack Setzer also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.

They weren't the only ones working in the home run department: Aitkin lost a few balls and finished the game with three home runs. That's the most home runs they've managed all season.

Aitkin pushed their record up to 13-5 with the win, which was their third straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.7 runs over those games. As for Hinckley-Finlayson, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-14.

As of now, neither Aitkin nor the Jaguars have any future games scheduled.
