While Porter-Gaud's win against Northwood Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cyclones sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Chargers on Tuesday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Cyclones also won the last time the pair played back in September of 2024.
Porter-Gaud was staring down a 2-1 deficit headed into the fourth set, but they rallied to take the next two for the win. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-21, 22-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-10.
Despite the loss, Northwood Academy still got an impressive performance from Connolly Summer, who had 16 digs and three aces.
The win got Porter-Gaud back to even at 1-1. As for Northwood Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-3.
Coming up, Porter-Gaud will take on River Bluff in a tournament on Friday. As for Northwood Academy, they will head out to take on Hammond at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
