Volleyball Recap: Porter-Gaud Triumphs

While Porter-Gaud's win against Northwood Academy wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Cyclones won by a set and slipped past the Chargers 3-2. The victory continues a trend for the Cyclones in their matchups with the Chargers: they've now won three in a row.

Porter-Gaud wouldn't go down easily and took Northwood Academy into a fifth set where they got it done with a five-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 22-25, 21-25, 25-22, 15-10.

Kylie Pure was the offensive standout of the match as she had 13 digs and four aces.

They weren't the only good server: Porter-Gaud was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. That's the most aces they've posted since back in October of 2024.

When it comes to explaining why Northwood Academy lost on Tuesday, don't look at Connolly Summer. Despite the final result, she had 16 digs and three aces.

The win got Porter-Gaud back to even at 1-1. As for Northwood Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-2.

Porter-Gaud has already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against River Bluff on the 29th. As for Northwood Academy, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Hammond on the 28th.
