Baseball Recap: Owosso Snaps Five-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Owosso hadn't done well against Holly recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Trojans were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over the Bronchos. The Trojans not only won on Thursday, but they posted their biggest win since May 5th (when they won 6-0).

Liam Patrick made a splash no matter where he played. He pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Patrick was also solid in the batter's box, earning three runs and one stolen base. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April.

In other pitching news, Jace Norton looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances.

Patrick wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Eden Ackley, who went 1-for-3 with two runs.

Owosso's victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 18-9. As for Holly, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.

Coming up, Owosso will challenge Kearsley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The timing is sure in the Trojans' favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Hornets have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Holly, they will square off against North Branch at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Broncos will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something the Bronchos surely won't give up without a fight.
