Softball Game Preview: Northfield Norsemen vs. Whitko Wildcats

Northfield hasn't had much luck against Whitko recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Norsemen will head out to face off against the Wildcats at 5:30 p.m. Northfield has given up an average of 12.9 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Northfield is headed into Wednesday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their fourth straight game on Tuesday. They came up short against Northwestern, falling 11-1.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Whitko's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 5-1 to Southwood.

Whitko saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Addie Garr, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Whitko's loss dropped their record down to 10-4. As for Northfield, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-8.

Northfield couldn't quite get it done against Whitko when the teams last played back in May of 2024 as they fell 11-6. Can the Norsemen avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
