The Bellwood-Antis Blue Devils will challenge the Central Dragons at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Bellwood-Antis has four straight victories, Central has five straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Bellwood-Antis' pitching crew heads into the matchup hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Hollidaysburg. The Blue Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight contests by seven runs or more this season.

Lainey Stinson made a big impact no matter where she played. She didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out 19 over seven innings pitched. Those 19 strikeouts gave her a new career-high. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run and three RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Karlie Sweigart, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with two runs. Abby Clabaugh was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
The home team had won the previous five meetings between Central and Clearfield, and Clearfield kept the tradition alive. The Dragons came up short against the Bison on Monday, falling 11-1.
Central saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Hailey Fries, who went 1-for-2 with one run.
Bellwood-Antis' win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Central, their loss dropped their record down to 2-12.
Central's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Bellwood-Antis has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 9.3 hits per game. It's a different story for Central, though, as they've been averaging 12.4 hits. Given Bellwood-Antis' sizable advantage in that area, the Dragons will need to find a way to close that gap.
Bellwood-Antis got the 'W' in their previous matchup two weeks ago against Central by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Blue Devils repeat their success, or do the Dragons have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
