Softball Game Preview: Port Jervis Raiders vs. Marlboro Central Dukes

The Port Jervis Raiders will be taking part in a tournament against the Marlboro Central Dukes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the matchup bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Port Jervis is headed out in good spirits considering the team just ended their winless streak on the road against Beacon on Friday. The Raiders were the clear victors by a 19-4 margin over the Bulldogs. That 15 run margin sets a new team best for the Raiders this season.

Meanwhile, Marlboro Central put another one in the bag on Thursday to keep their perfect season alive. They skirted past New Paltz 3-1.

The victory got Port Jervis back to even at 3-3. As for Marlboro Central, their win bumped their record up to 8-0.

Port Jervis couldn't quite get it done against Marlboro Central in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 5-0. Can the Raiders avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
